Relax and Enjoy

My keywords for 2025 are "Relax" and "Enjoy". It's kind of strange for a serial entrepreneur to write or even say the word "Relax". It's honestly something I need to work on. I don't believe I've used a "vacation responder" or "out of office" reply in over 25 years. So I ask myself, how the hell am I going to accomplish the goals I've set for myself and my clients while at the same time finding time to relax and enjoy life.

First, I've come to the realization that the calendar is undefeated. The earth will continue to spin on it's axis, day will turn to night, next month is February, and next year I'll be another year older. All of this to say, it really doesn't matter what I do, I might as well enjoy the ride. When it comes to marketing, we already know it's Valentine's Day, and that's followed by Spring Break. Before we know it, we're already planning for Christmas again. This shouldn't be a shock to anyone.

Second, I need to stop equating relaxation with laziness. Instead, I will equate relaxation with preparation and efficiency. Relaxation should be a reward for thinking ahead and putting systems in place that makes the whole team more efficient and productive. If we all understand the calendar, we can limit surprises and reduce stress.

Finally, it's time to enjoy life. I am thankful for my friends and family. I have an amazing wife and great kids. I want to spend as much time with them as possible. I want to teach them that it is possible to have a good work/life balance. I haven't always been good at that. Let's face it, it's been a real weakness of mine. That's why I'm making 2025 the year that I relax and enjoy. Hopefully, those who read this can help me accomplish my goals. Let's have some fun!
