What Happened to “Right and Wrong”?

There was a time when this Country had real values. There was good and bad, right and wrong, but today, there is no right and wrong, there is Republican or Democrat. Am I the only one who thinks it’s silly to watch a Facebook or Twitter News Feed and watch people taking sides over murder, discrimination, looting, and many other serious crimes?

I find it facinating as the murder of police officers, un-armerd black teenagers, and school shootings has become a source of endless debate rather than sensitivity for the victims. The reality is that in all these situations someone died. A mother’s son, a wife’s husband, a child’s father, a best friend, and yet pending on whether you watch Fox News or MSNBC there is little sympathy for the real victims.

Are we that naïve, that we let multi-billion dollar political machines play our emotions like we’re puppets? Isn’t murder wrong? Isn’t discrimination wrong? What’s wrong with us that we allow our moral compass to become so screwed up that right and wrong is based upon who we voted for in the last election?

It is time that we Americans start to re-examine the issues in front of us not based upon the News Channel we watch or the color of our skin, but based upon how we want our children to be raised. Our children don’t see black and white. They see friends and family. They know stealing and murder is wrong, and they are taught to respect law enforcement.
